W.M.P. No. 12593 of 2020 in W.P. No. 21586 of 2019 --- R. SUBBIAH, J and C. SARAVANAN, J --- This petition is filed by the writ petitioners, praying to clarify the common order dated 09.07.2020 passed by us in W.P. No. 22730 of 2018 and WP No. 21586 of 2019 with reference to the date of effect of pay revision benefits to the officers and staff of this Court on approval by His Excellency The Governor of Tamil Nadu of the pay pattern as framed and recommended by the Honourable Chief Justice and communicated in Letter ROC No.61942/B/2016/G2 dated 10.02.2017.

We have heard the counsel for the parties through Videoconferencing. 3.

By the order dated 09.07.2020 passed in WP Nos. 22730 of 2018 and WP No. 21586 of 2019, we have directed the Registrar General of this Court to place this Judgment before the Honourable Chief Justice of this Court for constituting a committee so that the committee shall go into the details with respect to the nature of duties discharged by the staff working in various 1/3

cadres before the Delhi High Court as well as this Court, before effecting the pay pattern and to submit a report thereof.

It is now submitted by the learned Senior counsel for the petitioners that the order dated 09.07.2020 is silent with reference to the date of effect of pay revision benefits payable to the officers and staff of this Court and therefore, it may be clarified.

As we have already issued a direction for constitution of a committee, we make it clear that it is for the committee to decide the date from which the pay revision can be effected to the staff of this Court, whether prospectively or retrospectively.
