ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed praying to issue a direction to the respondent to register a case on the complaint dated 29.08.2025.

It is seen from the records that the petitioner lodged complaint before the respondent alleging that the investigating officer

demanded money. On receipt of the said complaint dated 29.08.2025, the respondent forwarded the same to the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai City, before whom now it is pending.

The learned Counsel for Government of Tamilnadu (Criminal Side) submitted that the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai City has to nominate a particular officer to conduct enquiry on that complaint. 4.

In view of the above submission, the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai City is directed to forthwith nominate a particular officer to conduct enquiry on the complaint lodged by the petitioner. Thereafter, the nominated enquiry officer shall conduct enquiry and dispose of the aforementioned complaint dated 29.08.2025, either by registering FIR or by closing the complaint, within a period of four weeks from the date of appointment as enquiry officer. 5.

With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 03.06.2026 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No Speaking/non-speaking order lok
