Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider and grant permission to perform cultural programme on 06.05.2022 as part of Temple Festival of Arulmigu Sri Ettiamman Temple situated at Thatankuttai Village, Melmuttukoor, Gudiyatham Taluk, Vellore District scheduled on 06.05.2022 based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.04.2022. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.04.2022 to which respondents have not responded.

2. When the matter came up yesterday, this Court had directed the third respondent/Police to consider the representation of the petitioner and to appear before this Court in person.

3. Now the respondents have passed the order of refusal yesterday i.e. on 05.05.2022 and this Court is not satisfied with the reason stated in the rejection order. The Inspector of Police has not applied his mind and has not given an adequate reason for his rejection. However, the festival is scheduled to be held today, therefore, this Court cannot give any direction and since the petitioner's representation was rejected by the respondent on 05.05.2022, this Writ Petition has become infructuous.

4. However, the petitioner is at liberty to reschedule the festival and give the representation fifteen (15) days prior to the festival. If the respondents receives the representation, they shall respond to the same seven (7) days prior to the festival.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
