This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to give police protection to the petitioner based on his representation dated 26.12.2017. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate [Crl. Side] appearing for the respondents.

3.The petitioner is a prominent member in Viduthalai Ciruthaikal Katchi [VCK] in Nagapattinam District. It is seen that there are some threats to his life.

4.Taking into consideration these aspects, this Court directs the 2nd respondent Police to put a patta passbook at the residence of the petitioner and maintain discreet surveillance so that no harm befalls on the petitioner. With the above direction, this petition is ordered accordingly.
