Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent herein to levy property tax in the name of the petitioner with respect to Tax Levy No.275 with respect to the house at No.2/43/A, Ward 3, Nadukadu,Vedaranyam Taluk, Nagapattinam District office on the basis 1/6

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking direction to the respondent to pass orders disposing the representation dated 11.11.2024 submitted with a request to levy the property tax in the name of the petitioner.

2. Mr.P.Balathandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner submitted that the Petitioner's wife sent a representation dated 11.11.2024 to the Respondent with a request to levy property tax in the name of her husband with respect to the subject property. Despite the same, the Respondent has not taken any action on the representation made by the 2/6

Petitioner and therefore, the Petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents 1 to 3 has submitted that appropriate action will be taken to consider the representation dated 11.11.2024.

5. Heard both sides. Perused the records.

6. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, without going into the merits of the case, this court directs the second Respondent to dispose of the representation dated 11.11.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
