(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.) The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2026. Ms.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been retailing ice cream and popsicles in his threewheeled mobile cart since 2022, under the name and style of "High on Pops" at 32nd Street, near Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai. He also submitted that despite holding a valid FSSAI license, the officials of the respondent Corporation are preventing the petitioner from operating at the said location. Consequently, the petitioner sent a representation dated 13.02.2026 along with an appropriate application seeking Street Vending License under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) 2/5
Act, 2014. Since no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents concerned to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation. 5.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, submitted that the area where the petitioner operates his three-wheeled mobile cart has been declared as a vending zone and that his representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed at the earliest. 6.
In view of the above, the respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2026 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law. It is made clear that till the disposal of his representation, the petitioner shall not be disturbed from pursuing his business.
