PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent No.3 to give

adequate Police protection to celebrate the Chitra Pournami festival of Sri Thadunthandanathar and Thaiyal Nayagi Amman Temple at Thaiyur village from 04.05.2023 to 06.05.2023 on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dated 16.03.2023.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent No.3 to give adequate Police protection to celebrate the Chitra Pournami festival of Sri Thadunthandanathar and Thaiyal Nayagi Amman Temple at Thaiyur village from 04.05.2023 to 06.05.2023 on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dated 16.03.2023.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that Chitra Pournami festival is celebrated at Sri Thadunthandanathar and Thaiyal Nayagi Amman Temple, situated at Thaiyur village every year for past fifteen years. This festival is celebrated in grand manner. Apprehending some disturbance, petitioner gave representation dated 16.03.2023, seeking Police protection for the smooth conduct of the temple festival. No order is

passed on the basis of the representation, necessitating filing of this petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that the representation is available and appropriate orders would be passed. 4.In the light of the submission of learned counsel appearing for parties, this Court directs the respondent Police to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2023 and pass appropriate order in the manner known to law.
