ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the 1st respondent to produce the petitioner's wife Devika, aged about 29 years, daughter of Viswanathan, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Devika, aged about 29 years, daughter of Viswanathan, went missing from 03.04.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her despite lodging of complaint.

Today, Devika appeared in video conference along with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

her counsel Mr.R.T.L.Chandar, Advocate, (Enrollment No.1319/1996; Mobile No.9840214905). When enquired, Devika stated that on account of marital discord, she left her matrimonial house and she is now living with her mother at No.4/12, Mariyamman Koil Street, Ariyalur Thirukkai, Villupuram District - 605 402.

In the opinion of this Court, the detenue viz., Devika, aged about 29 years, daughter of Viswanathan, is not in the illegal custody of anyone for the issuance of writ of habeas corpus.

Hence, this habeas corpus petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
