This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st Additional Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai, to dispose of the petition in Crl.M.P.No.6344 of 2020 in unnumbered C.A.No. of 2020, pending on its file on the date of its next hearing i.e., 26.08.2020, within stipulated time fixed by this Court.

Heard Mr.P.T.Ramesh Raja, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. The petitioner is facing trial for offences under Sections 294(b) and 506(i) of IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Harassment of Women Act and Final report has been filed in the year 2017 itself and the charges have also been framed. The Court below is yet to start the trial.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned 1st Additional Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai, is directed to complete the proceedings in Crl.M.P.No.6344 of 2020 in unnumbered C.A.No. of 2020, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
