Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.8.2020 and take necessary action to remove the illegal shops selling meat, beef, chicken and fork within the limits of Tiruppur Corporation Area and follow the strict procedures until the Corona Pandemic subsides in Tiruppur region. ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The Commissioner of Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation has filed a report dated July 22, 2021 where it has been indicated that 368 meat shops are functioning within the limits of the Tiruppur Corporation selling a variety of meat; and, of them 342 shops have due permission and 26 shops do not have any permission.

2. The report also indicates that the Tiruppur City Corporation had issued notices under Sections 360, 361 and 414 of Tiruppur Corporation Act, 2008 to the 26 unauthorised meat shops and such shops have been closed.

3. At paragraph 4 of the report, the Commissioner has also indicated that other unauthorised fruit and vegetable shops have also been duly "removed" in terms of the order of this court passed on W.P.N.12567 of 2021.

4. In such view of the matter, the present petition appears to have served its purpose and W.P.No.12567 of 2021 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.13362 of 2021 is closed.
