Prayer: Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal dated 23.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner against the order in Pro.Mu.Mu.No.A2/4866/2025 dated 14.02.2026 regarding Patta Transfer in the name of third parties within a limited time frame. O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal dated 23.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner against the order in Pro.Mu.Mu.No.A2/4866/2025 dated 14.02.2026 regarding Patta Transfer in the name of third parties within a time limit fixed by this Court.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's father, namely, Subramanian, has purchased the land in S.No.613/5 (Old S.No.657/IA) in Marakkanam, Kazhikuppam Village, Marakkanam Taluk, Villupuram District from one Adhilakshmi and he died on 20.02.1992, leaving behind him, seven sons and one daughter. Except one Jeevarathinam, who is one of the legal heirs
of Subramanian, all other legal heirs relinquished their right, title and interest in favour of the petitioner in the subject property. While so, the fifth respondent herein has given a representation to the Tahsildar, Marakkanam, requesting to issue Patta in her name and cancel the patta issued in favour of the petitioner for the subject property. The third respondent conducted enquiry and passed order dated 14.02.2026 directing the fourth respondent to issue patta in favour of the fifth respondent, against which, the petitioner has preferred an appeal dated 23.02.2026 before the second respondent, however, no order was passed. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the second respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal of the petitioner dated 23.02.2026 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.
4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4.
5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the appeal of the petitioner dated 23.02.2026 and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
