O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to dispose of the representation made by the petitioners on 05.07.2024, wherein the petitioners are seeking for issuance of patta with respect to the subject property.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. It is seen from the records that at present, the subject property is classified as 'Arasu Poromboke Natham'. The petitioners are seeking to reclassify the same as 'Grama Natham' and consequently, seeking for issuance of patta. Unless and otherwise, classification is changed, there is no scope for the second respondent to grant patta in favour of the petitioners.

4. In view of the same, the petitioners shall make a fresh representation before the first respondent seeking for reclassification of the land. If orders are passed by the first respondent, the petitioners can 2/4

approach the second respondent and seek for issuance of patta in their names. Except giving this clarity, no further orders can be passed in this writ petition.

This Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
