Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent to cancel the patta and quarrying permission granted to private persons in Survey No.1143/16 of Natham Poramboke of Ponnai Village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore District comprising 2 acres of land which belonged to the Government and also to take necessary departmental action against all the officials who had colluded and conspired to grant the illegal patta and quarrying permission within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court and to direct the 2nd respondent to take criminal action against all the persons, comprising government servants and private persons, who were involved in the grant of the illegal patta and quarrying permission.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus on the first respondent to cancel the patta and quarrying permission granted to the private persons in Survey No.1143/16 of Natham poramboke of Ponnai Village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore District.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader submits that patta was found to have been fabricated and the same has been cancelled. He further submits on instructions that quarrying operations have been stopped with effect from 25th October 2016.

3. The writ petition is, thus, infructuous. No order need be passed thereon. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.26286 of 2017 is closed.
