ORDER
The present Writ Petition is filed directing the 4th respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 29.02.2024.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a non-medical Professor of Microbiology at the Government Kasturiba Gandhi Hospital for Women and Children, from which he retired on 30.04.2006. In this circumstance, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 29.02.2024 to the 4th respondent stating that vide G.O.Ms.No.236, Finance (Pay Cell) Department,
dated 12.07.2018, orders were issued to revise the pension/family pension of professors, who retired prior to 23.10.2009, with prospective monetary effect from 01.07.2018. It is further submitted that this Court, vide order dated 12.12.2023 passed in W.P. No. 7905 of 2020 filed by similarly placed persons, directed the petitioners therein to submit a fresh representation and further directed the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the same within a stipulated time frame. However, the said representation of the petitioner has not been disposed of by the 4th respondent till date. Aggrieved by this inaction, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition is filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, this Court directs the 4th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.02.2024 seeking revision of pension and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
