Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.10.2013 for appointing the petitioner in the post of Driver by considering the petitioner seniority and vacancy. O R D E R

The petitioner registered his qualification relating to the post of Driver with the first respondent Employment Exchange on 25.10.2000.

2. While so, the first respondent sponsored his name for the post of Driver in the department of Information and Public Relation, Krishnagiri District. Based on the sponsorship, the department, by proceedings dated 03.09.2012 called the petitioner to appear for interview on 14.09.2012.

Accordingly, the petitioner attended the interview. It is the grievance of the petitioner that result of the interview was not informed to him. Hence, he made a representation dated 21.10.2013 to give him appointment to the post of Driver. Thereafter, he has filed this writ petition, seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider his representation for appointment to the post of Driver.

3. Heard both sides.

4. This Court cannot issue a positive direction to the respondents to give him appointment to the post of Driver. But the second respondent, who conducted the interview on 14.09.2012 is expected to inform the petitioner whether he was selected or not. If the petitioner was selected, he could be provided with appropriate appointment order. If he was not selected, the first respondent is directed to inform the petitioner about his nonselection by way of reply to his representation dated 21.10.2013. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
