Respondent Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of certiorarified mandamus, calling for the records of the respondent in dated 28.03.2024 vide A5/1887607/2024 and quash the same and consequently permit the petitioner to accept her nomination papers and consider her as a candidate for contesting the Parliamentary Election for Arani Constituency. ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.G.Mayakrishnan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Niranjan Rajagopalan, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent.

2. The present writ petition is filed challenging the order rejecting the nomination papers filed by the petitioner.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the nomination filed by the petitioner was rejected on 28.03.2024 and on the same date, the petitioner gave a representation. However, no orders were passed.

4. All stages of the election, except polling, are completed. Voting by postal ballots has also commenced. Polling is scheduled on 19.04.2024. At this stage, it would not be possible to entertain the present writ petition filed by the petitioner. Even otherwise, if the petitioner feels that her nomination was illegally rejected, then the

petitioner may avail the remedy, as may be permissible under law, after the elections are over.

5. The writ petition, as such, stands dismissed. There shall be no orders as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.11707 of 2024 is closed. (S.V.G., CJ.) (J.S.N.P., J.) 17.04.2024 Index :
