..Respondent(s) PRAYER - This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Special District Revenue Officer (L.A-2), Tamilnadu Highways and Minor Ports Department, Thiruvallur, the First Respondent herein to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 13.02.2026 and to effect the payment of compensation to the petitioners in respect of the 1650 square feet or 150 square metres of lands comprised in S.No.418/3B14 of the Thirupachur Village, Thiruvallur Taluk and District, which were acquired by the Tamilnadu Highways Department.

W.M.P.No.14141 of 2026 filed seeking permission to the petitioners to join together and file a single writ petition is ordered as prayed for. 2.This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to effect payment of the compensation amount to the petitioners in respect of the property morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition, based on the petitioners' representation dated 13.02.2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

3.According to the petitioners, they were the owner of the property morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition, which was acquired by the respondents. According to the petitioners, the compensation amount for the land acquisition has not been paid to the petitioners till date. According to the petitioners, compensation amount was not paid since revenue records for the property was standing in the name of the previous owner from whom the petitioners have purchased the property. The petitioners also contend that the previous owner has also given consent for the petitioners to receive the

compensation amount. In such circumstances, the petitioners had given the aforesaid representation dated 13.02.2026 to the 1st respondent. 4.Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

5.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioners' representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the previous owner of the petitioners in whose name the revenue records stood and the award was also passed. 6.According to the petitioners, the compensation amount is yet to be disbursed to any of the parties.

7.For the foregoing reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 1st respondent to conduct an enquiry with regard to payment of compensation to the eligible party in respect of the land acquisition, pertaining to the property morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition, after issuing notice to the petitioners as well as the previous owner of the property

namely Kalaiselvi and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioners' representation dated 13.02.2026, seeking for payment of the compensation, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
