ORDER

These contempt petitions have been filed to punish the contemnors for willful and deliberate disobedience of the order of this court dated 09.03.2020, passed in Application No.8781, 8782, 8783, 8784, 8785, 8786, 8787, 8788, 8789, 8790, 8791, 8792, 8793, 8794 & 8804 of 2019.

2. Though the petitions have been filed to punish the respondent for willfully disobeying the orders passed by this court, taking note of the situations after post Covid period, entire nation become stands still, and the garnishee is happens to be a Government Department, mere some delay is occurred in carrying out the court orders, that cannot be a ground to punish the officer for contempt of court. Normally, for taking any action by the Department level, it requires many administration sanctions and that would have lead to the delay.

Therefore, this court is of the view that, considering the pandemic situation, at this stage, punishment or issuing notice of violation does not arise.
