O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned communication dated 27.10.2022 of the 1st respondent and for a consequential direction to the respondents to provide free electricity connection to the agricultural lands belonging to the petitioner as per the proceedings of the 1st respondent dated 22.10.2021.

2. Heard Mr.K.Govi Ganesan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the TANGEDCO submitted that the petitioner is yet to approach the concerned authority and express his willingness. Unless the petitioner expresses his willingness by furnishing all necessary particulars, it will not be possible to act upon the request made by the petitioner. In this regard, the learned Standing Counsel also produced the written instructions received from the 1st respondent.

4. In the light of the above stand taken by the respondents, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to appear before the 1st respondent and express his willingness by furnishing all necessary particulars and documents and thereafter, the 1st respondent shall take a decision on merits and in accordance with law.

5. This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
