This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.03.2025, seeking bail in Crime No.144 of 2025 registered for the offence under Sections 309(4) and 311 of BNS, 2023.

2.It is the case of the prosecution that on 17.03.2025 at about 08.00 p.m., when the defacto complainant was walking towards Karuvakadu, the petitioners had waylaid the defacto complainant and robbed Rs.1,200/- at knife point. Hence, the case.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are in custody for a long time and considering the period of incarceration, they may be released on bail.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondent reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the first petitioner has 34 previous cases, out of which 8 cases have been disposed of and the second petitioner has 17 previous cases, out of which 2 of them have 2/4

been disposed of and they are on bail in those pending cases. 5.Considering the fact that the petitioners are habitual offenders and have several previous cases, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners at this stage.
