Respondent PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, to direct the respondent police to register the FIR based on the petitioner's complaint dated 07.12.2023 and by considering the order of the learned Judicial Magistrate Court-I, Karaikal in Crl.M.P.No.75 of 2024 dated 31.01.2024. O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to register the FIR as directed by the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karaikal in Crl.M.P.No.75 of 2024, dated 31.01.2024.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and

perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner lodged a complaint before the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karaikal and sought for a direction under Section 156(3) of Cr.P.C. The learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karaikal, by an order dated 31.01.2024, directed the respondent to conduct an enquiry, if a cognizable office is made out, to register the FIR. However, so far, the respondent has not completed the preliminary enquiry.

4. In view of the above, the respondent is directed to register the FIR forthwith, as per the directions of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karaikal and proceed with the investigation in accordance with law.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
