ORDER

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner claims that he along with his family members is residing in the premises bearing Old No.4, New No.9/4, Murugambedu Road, Thendral Nagar, Ambattur Taluk, Chennai 53, from the year 1995 onwards, and he has already been issued with a Family/Ration Card by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Tamil Nadu, bearing No.01/G/0765565. The petitioner would further state that he was issued with patta and is also paying all statutory levies to the Government, and while so, he submitted an application dated 26.5.2015, to the second respondent praying for domestic electricity service connection, and also paid the prescribed https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

fees and was issued with a receipt under Sl.No.AA9776815, and on enquiry, came to know that the second respondent did not process the application on the ground that the Survey Number mentioned, is different and with regard to the said deficiency, he obtained a certificate from the jurisdictional Village Administrative Officer on 2.6.2015, and submitted the same to the second respondent and in spite of it, no orders have been passed and hence, he came forward to file this writ petition.

3.Heard the submissions of Mr.B.Kumarasamy, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.N.Roofus Abraham, learned Government Advocate, who accepted notice on behalf of the first respondent, and Mr.P.R.Dhilipkumar, learned Standing Counsel, who accepted notice on behalf of the second respondent.

4.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 26.5.2015, in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
