Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the objection filed by the petitioner in his representation dated 28.03.2024 and conduct a proper inquiry and then reconsider the nomination filed by the 4th respondent and take appropriate action against the returning electoral officer who passed the nomination negligently.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.Udit Narayan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Niranjan Rajagopalan, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 3.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the nomination papers filed by the fourth respondent were accepted without considering the objections raised by the present petitioner. The nomination papers filed by the fourth respondent were incomplete and he has also suppressed some facts.

3. The polling is scheduled on 19.04.2024. All stages in the process of election except polling are completed. It would now be too late in the day to entertain the present writ petition.

4. In the light of that, the writ petition stands dismissed. There shall be no orders as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.(MD).No.8355 of 2024 is closed.
