Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.03.2022 and release the petitioner's father Jailapdeen, S/o.Ahmed Hussain, aged 78 years, Central Prison-1, Puzhal, Chennai, now taking treatment in the Stanley Government Hospital, Chennai-3 on medical grounds within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.,] (1) The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.03.2022 and release the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner's father Hailapdeen, S/o.Ahmed Hussain, aged 78 years, confined at Central Prison-1, Puzhal, Chennai, now taking treatment in the Stanley Government Hospital, Chennai-3 on medical grounds within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court.

(2) Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents brought to the notice of this Court that the prisoner/detenu, namely Mr.Jailapdeen, son of Ahamed Hussain, died while taking treatment in the hospital on 20.05.2022.

(3) This being the factum, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken in respect of the grounds raised in this writ petition and accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of as infructuous.
