The petitioner seeks a direction for the provision of service connection to his agricultural land at Thimmalai village, Kallakurichi district.

2. The petitioner states that he had applied for a service connection by submitting an online application bearing No.TAHDCO/2017-18/FTPS-VP-468. However, it is stated that the petitioner inadvertently specified the Survey Number as 40/4 instead of 35/5. After issuing letter dated 27.10.2020, the present writ petition is filed.

3. Mr.C.Jayaprakash, Learned Government Advocate, accepts notice for the first respondent and Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, Learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice for the second respondent.

4. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent produces a communication dated 30.11.2021 by which the petitioner's request was rejected on the ground that he has to submit a fresh application in respect of the land purchased by him subsequently. In view of the said communication from the TNEB, nothing survives of the present writ petition.

5. Accordingly, W.P.No.12247 of 2022 is disposed of by leaving it open to the petitioner to apply for a fresh service connection in respect of the property bearing S.No.35/5, Thimmalai Village, Kallakurichi District or to assail the communication dated 30.11.2021 in accordance with law.
