CORAM

THE HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE B.RAJENDRAN Crl.OP No.22994 of 2015 S.Ramachandran .. Petitioner Vs The State represented by the Inspector of Police T-4 Police Station Maduravoyal Chennai-600 095.

.. Respondent Prayer:- Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., to direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioner. For Petitioner :Mr.PL.Ravikumar For Respondent :Mr.C.Emalias, Additional Public Prosecutor

ORDER

The petitioner has come up with this petition, seeking a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of an enquiry except in a manner known to law.

2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. In my considered opinion, no blanket direction as prayed for by the petitioner could be given. If the petitioner is wanted either for enquiry or for interrogation, he can very well be summoned by the respondent police and while doing so, the petitioner shall not be harassed. At the same time, the petitioner should submit himself to the respondent, if summoned, and shall co-operate for interrogation and enquiry. It is made clear that this order will not shield if the petitioner is involved in any cognizable offence. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. With the above observation, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
