Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant compensation along with interest at 12% per annum from the date of tragedy till the date of payment of the deceased.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The State Government has filed an affidavit affirmed on 18.10.2016 in the context of the plea of the learned counsel for the petitioner restricted to what is set out in paragraph 2 of the observation made by us (dt. 13.07.2016) on the same in paragraph 3. We are happy to note that the Government has accepted the request of the petitioner to pay the compensation with interest from the date of the accident and at the interest rates provided for different financial years as under:- ''In the financial year 2004-2011 at 8%; 2011-2012 at 8.6% and 2012-2016 at 8.7%''

2. The learned Additional Advocate General submits that the beneficiaries may disclose their respective bank account numbers to the Government through the counsel and the amount will be transmitted directly into the accounts within four weeks of the account numbers being so specified.

3. We, thus, close the proceedings with the hope that the aforesaid may provide some solace to the affected families. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.17281 of 2016 is also closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CS VII) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar
