Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the Proceedings of the 3rd respondent issued in Circular No.IMU-HQ/C/12/18/01/CET-2022, dated 07.03.2022 as made available in the Website and downloaded by the Petitioner on 30.04.2022 with respect to holding of Common
Entrance Test (CET) for 12.2.1. BE/B.Tech in Marine Engineering (4 years duration) 12.2.2. B.Sc (Nautical Science) (3 years duration) on the proposed date of 29th May, 2022 by quashing the same with a direction to the 3rd respondent to hold the said Entrance Test (CET) to such other date subsequent to the publication of Results by the respective State Educational Board Examinations. ORDER
The relief sought for in this writ petition has now become infructuous in view of the fact that the petitioner has challenged a Circular dated 07.03.2022 which pertains to the Common Entrance Test (CET)) meant for Pre-Sea Training courses such as B.Sc (Nautical Science - Three years course), which was earlier proposed to be conducted on 29.05.2022.
2. Heard Mr.S.Vinod, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.K.Subbu Ranga Bharathi, learned counsel for the 1st and 2nd respondents and Mr.K.R. Tamilmani, learned counsel for the 3rd respondent.
3. It is now brought to the notice of this Court by the learned Standing counsel appearing for the 1st and 2nd respondents as well as for the 3rd respondent that the examination which was earlier proposed to be held on 29.05.2022 was postponed to 11.06.2022 and the said examination was also conducted and the petitioner has also participated in the said examination and the results were also declared and published. Since the examination has already been conducted and results have also been declared and published, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
