O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for directing the Respondents 1 to 4 herein to take proper action for conducting the festival on 23rd April 2023 peacefully without any threat of law and order problem in Chinna Samudhiram Devendhira Kula Vellalar, Arulmighu Mariamman Thirukoil,

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner and his predecessor were celebrating the temple festival at Chinna Samudhiram Devendhira Kula Vellalar, Arulmighu Mariamman Thirukoil, Salem District for about 70 years. For the past 14 years, petitioner is leading the celebration. This year, the temple festival is scheduled on 23.04.2023. He expects some disturbance from 5th respondent and some other persons, therefore, he gave a representation to the authorities on 25.11.2022 for ensuring proper and peaceful conduct of the temple festival. So far, no order is passed on this representation, necessitating filing of this petition.

3. In response, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that, on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner, the matter was referred to Revenue Divisional Officer for enquiry, and it is pending before the Revenue Divisional Officer.

4. In view of the submissions of learned counsel for the parties, Revenue Divisional Officer, Athoor Town, Salem District namely the 2nd respondent is directed to conclude the enquiry and pass appropriate orders in the manner known to law immediately.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 20.04.2023 Index :Yes/No Internet :Yes/No gd Note:Issue order copy on 20.04.2023.
