The petitioner was imposed a punishment of reduction in rank to Assistant by the second respondent in his proceedings dated 08.07.2015. As against the said punishment, the petitioner has filed an appeal before the first respondent on 03.08.2015 and Reminder Cum Appeal dated 04.05.2016 along with a Stay Petition as per the order of this Court made in W.P.No.24168/15, dated 08.01.2016.

2. Now, the petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the Statutory Appeal preferred by him on 03.08.2015 and the Reminder Cum Appeal dated 04.05.2016 and also the Stay Petition dated 04.05.2016 preferred as per the order of this Court made in W.P.No.24168/15, dated 08.01.2016.

3. Heard Mr.R.Singaravalan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Kanmani Annamalai, learned Additional Government Pleader (Taxes), who takes notice for the respondents.

4. In view of the narrow prayer made, the Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the first respondent to dispose of the Statutory Appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 03.08.2015 and the Reminder cum Appeal dated 04.05.2016 and also the Stay Petition dated 04.05.2016, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till such time, the respondents are directed not to take any action from reverting the petitioner from the post of Deputy Commercial Tax Officer. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
