This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to conduct enquiry and to complete the same within a time frame fixed by this Court based on the representation made by the petitioner on 10.06.2024.

2. Heard Mr.T.Velu, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2.

3. The petitioner wanted a correction to be done in the UDR patta. However, the representation has been given before the first respondent. The first respondent does not have power or jurisdiction to correct the UDR patta and it is only the District Revenue Officer, who has vested with the power. The first respondent has, in fact, issued summons for enquiry on 28.06.2024.

4. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to forward the entire files to the District Revenue Officer, Salem and the District Revenue Officer shall conduct enquiry after 2/4

affording opportunity to the petitioner and the third respondent and final orders shall be passed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
