The petitioner seeks bail in Crime No.5 of 2023 registered by the respondent for the offences punishable under Sections 354, 376(2)(n), 312 and 417 of IPC. The petitioner had been taken into custody on 28.01.2024.
2. After completing investigation, final report had been filed before the Judicial Magistrate, Gummidipoondi. The Court had also examined the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164(5) Cr.P.C. She had very clearly stated about the sexual assault made by the petitioner herein and also of the fact that she attempted to commit suicide owing rejection after she had become pregnant. On the first occasion, she took tablets and on the same occasion, she cut her hands. On both the occasions, she was rescued after treatment.
3. Earlier petition seeking bail was dismissed on 15.03.2024 in Crl.O.P.No.5517 of 2024. It is stated that investigation has been completed and the matter has also been committed to the Court of Sessions.

4. Let the evidence of the victim be examined and let her also be cross-examined and thereafter, the petition seeking bail can be considered. At this stage, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
