Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. It is seen that the petitioner's wife had died and on a complaint given by the petitioner's mother-in-law that, he is retaining "seedhanam articles", the petitioner was called for enquiry.

3. Under such circumstances, no blanket orders of not to harass can be passed. If the petitioner is wanted either for enquiry or for interrogation, he can very well be summoned by the respondent police and while doing so, the petitioner shall not be harassed. At the same time, the petitioner should submit himself to the respondent for interrogation and enquiry. It is made clear that this order will not shield if the petitioner is involved in cognizable offence.

4. With the above observation, these Criminal Original Petitions are closed.
