The petitioner is the defacto complainant in S.C.No.6 of 2023. The present Criminal Original Petition is filed to expedite the trial within a stipulated time.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that it is a case where 19 persons are facing trial as accused and about 77 witnesses has to be examined. The trial has commenced, so far 2 witnesses have been examined. The prosecution has taken necessary steps to expedite the trial. 3.

Taking note of the submissions of the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) that out of 19 accused, two accused are absconding hence case has been split up and taking note of the number of witnesses and number of accused, this Court is of the view that it is suffice to direct the trial Court to take up the trial on priority basis and complete it as expeditiously as possible.

With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
