ORDER

The petitioner has filed an application before the third respondent for cancellation of patta issued in the name of the fourth respondent.

2. Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the petitioner has filed an application before the wrong authority and that he ought to file his application for cancellation of patta only before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvarur. The said statement is recorded.

3. The petitioner submitted that he may be permitted to file a fresh application before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvarur.

4. In view of the statement made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, nothing survives in this petition and it may be closed. The petitioner is now at liberty to file a fresh application before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvarur, which he undertakes to file within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, wherein the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvarur, is required to dispose of the matter within a period of four months subject to any notification or inconvenience that may arise, due to the notification of the Assembly Election in the State. No costs.
