ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.03.2025 to reduce the property tax for the period 2022-2023 in Bill No.08-100-05855-000.
2. Ms.K.Aswini Devi, learned Standing counsel, takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioner, being owner of the subject property, had let out the said property for commercial purpose and he is also paying the property tax for the said property regularly. Under these circumstances, all of a 2/6
sudden, the respondent had enhanced the property tax. Hence, the petitioner filed a representation dated 22.03.2025 before the respondents for reduction of property tax. Even after the receipt of said representation, no order has been passed by the respondents till date. Hence, this writ petition.
4. In reply, the learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents would requests this Court to pass appropriate orders directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation made by the petitioner.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.
6. In the case on hand, the petitioner had let out his property for commercial purpose and he is paying the property tax regularly. Under these circumstances, all of a sudden, the property tax was enhanced by 3/6
the respondent and hence, a representation dated 22.03.2025 has been filed by the petitioner for reduction of property tax. However, the same was not considered by the respondents till date.
7. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.03.2025 and dispose of the same on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
8. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
