This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking writ of mandamus directing the 1st to 4th respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2026 in record to grant of family pension.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2026"

2. The petitioner is a second wife of the deceased Gunasekaran. The said Gunasekaran was working as a Sub Inspector of Survey and Land Records. The petitioner would submit that the first marriage of her husband with one Santhi, was dissolved on 18.09.2006. Thereafter, on 21.07.2007, the petitioner married the said Gunasekaran. After his retirement, the said Gunasekaran passed away on 27.12.2016, leaving behind the petitioner and their son, Mamallan.

3. The case of the petitioner is that she made an application with requisite certificates requesting the respondents to grant family pension to the petitioner and her son. Since there is no response the petitioner sent a representation on 06.03.2026, to respondents requesting them to sanction

family pension to them. However, the same has not been considered. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2026 has not been considered to date, a direction is issued to respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
