This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to return the registration fee Rs.6,63,729/- (Six Lakhs Sixty Three Thousands and Seven Hundred Twenty Nine Only) paid by the petitioner in respect of the pending document No.P233/2017 along with interest and for consequential benefits based on petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2023.

2. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner though the petitioner has presented a sale deed dated 24.10.2017, however, thereafter, the document has not been registered. Hence he is entitled for fee alone. In this regard, he has given a representation dated 13.03.2023.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that as the document has not been registered, the registration fee has to Page 2/5

be paid to the petitioner and that the respondent will pay that amount within a period of four weeks.

4. In such view of the matter, there shall be a direction to the respondents to return the registration fees to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
