ORDER
The petitioner has come to this Court seeking a limited prayer for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.08.2016 and to pass appropriate orders.
2. It is the claim of the petitioner that after he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Anna University, Tiruchirappalli on 23.11.2009, pursuant to the enactment of the Tamil Nadu University Laws (Amendment and Repeal) Act, 2011 and by virtue of G.O.Ms.No.452, Higher Education (I1) Department dated 20.10.2015, the teaching and non-teaching staff in University Departments and Constituent Colleges of erstwhile Anna Universities of Technology functioning at Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Chennai along with 13 constituent colleges and 4 regional offices were merged with Anna University, Chennai. Therefore, all the staff of the erstwhile universities and institutions became the staff of Anna University. Consequently, the list of eligible staff members who were absorbed in Anna University was published. But the status of the petitioner has not been made known in spite of repeated representations. Hence he seeks for disposal of his representation dated 10.8.2016, which is pending before the second respondent.
3. Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.L.P.Shanmughasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the second respondent.
4. This Court, considering the limited prayer, hereby directs the Registrar, Anna University, the second respondent herein to consider the pending representation of the petitioner on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
