Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider his representation dated 30.04.2022 and to direct the Respondent to issue the petitioner a passport based on petitioner's application with file No.MA4064047887322 dated 18.03.2022 within the stipulated period as fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Subbu Ranga Bharathi, learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The petitioner seeks issuance of Passport. The respondent appears to have some hesitation because the petitioner is involved in some Criminal Cases.

3. It is seen that all the cases are at the F.I.R stage. Pendency of F.I.R.s cannot come in the way of issuance of Passport to the petitioner. The respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 30.04.2022 and issue Passport, subject to fulfillment of other formalities. The Passport shall be issued within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the aforesaid directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
