Respondents PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to issue a notification to the relevant sitting President and/or Member(s) to exercise the jurisdiction of all vacant district forums and to exercise the powers and discharge the functions of all vacant President or Member of that vacant District Commission until the vacancies are filled. The petitioner also seek that this Court pass final orders only after the above is implemented in full. It is also submitted that taking into consideration the influence on the outcome, this Court dispose this matter in a timely and judicious manner.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The public interest litigation has been filed to seek a direction on the respondents to issue notification directing the President and/or Members to decide the cases pending before the different District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum as otherwise the posts have not been filled up for the last few years.

2. The learned State Government Pleader submits that presently interview after written examination is in process, thus, immediately on completion of it, the appointment of the President or Members to the concerned district forum would be made.

3. Taking note of the fact that now after the written examination, the interview is in progress for appointment of President/Members of the district forum, we do not find that now the cause would survive as the appointments would be made soon after the completion of the interview.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to expedite the appointment process immediately after the pronouncement of the results of the interview and orders may be issued thereupon without further delay.
