Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4th respondent to provide police permission and protection to the proposed hunger strike agitation to be held on 30.05.2022 in Villupuram, Villupuram District

ORDER

This petition is filed for a direction, directing the 4th respondent to grant permission and protection to conduct hunger strike agitation in Villupuram District.

2.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the application of the petitioner dated 02.06.2022 is rejected by the respondent police. He added that the petitioner is insisting the place of his choice and that cannot be granted and the permission to conduct the hunger strike agitation has already been rejected by them on the ground that the petitioner was insisting for the particular place and the petitioner cannot direct the police to grant permission to the place that was sought by him. At the most, any democracy agitation could be allowed in the place that is ear marked for the purpose and not in any other place that is insisted by the petitioner. 3.

Considering the above submissions, the petitioner is hereby directed to give a fresh representation to the 4th respondent seeking permission to conduct peaceful agitation in the place fixed by the police and also to submit an undertaking that he will not make scurrilous allegations as against anyone. On such representation, the 4th respondent police is directed to consider the same and pass orders within a period of 10 days from the date of receipt of the said representation. 4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
