Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2020 as per the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014, made for granting permission/certificate of vending and till such time, not to disturb with the running of the petitioner's bunk shop No.198/756, Opposite to Sangeetha Vidayalaya (Poompuhar), Vasan Avenue, Chennai-600 002, wherein selling Tea, Coffee and Food items by LPG Gas Stove.

O R D E R

The writ petitioner is a differently abled person with 65% disability and he is running a Bunk Shop at No.198/756, Opposite to Sangeetha Vidayalaya (Poompuhar), Vasan Avenue, Chennai-600 002 and selling Tea, Coffee and other eateries in the said shop. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 21.12.2020 to the respondents seeking licence to run the said bunk shop. The second respondent is the competent authority under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014 to consider the petitioner's representation for granting licence to run the bunk shop in the said place, but so far no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation and therefore, the petitioner is constrained to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

approach this Court by filing this writ petition.

2. Mrs.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondents would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be duly considered on merits and in accordance with law.

3. Recording the submission of the learned counsel for the respondents Corporation, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2020 [proof has not been enclosed in the typed set of papers], if the said representation is available with the second respondent and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. This Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
