ORDER

Mr.V.Lakshminarayanan, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to conduct elections by secret ballot to Jumma Masjid, Gandhi Salai, Sriperumbudur, as sought for by him vide representation dated 6.9.2017.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.V.Lakshminarayanan, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that the respondent has already notified the election and the election would be completed within a period of three months from the date of reconstitution of the Board.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner also submitted that the respondent may be directed to complete the election within a period of three months.

Recording the submissions made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent, I direct the respondent to conduct the election within a period of three months from the date of reconstitution of the Board. It is made clear that in the case of the respondent finding it necessary, they may seek for police protection and the jurisdictional police shall give adequate police protection at the time of conducting the election.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
