Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents give permission to conduct the dance programme on 13.08.2015 in the event of Sri Thuroupathiamman Thirukoil of Pattavarthi Village, Gopalapuram Panchayat, Pappireddipatti Taluk, Dharmapuri District.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the Secretary of temple function to be held on 13.08.2015 at Sri Thuroupathiamman Thirukoil of Pattavarthi Village, Gopalapuram Panchayat, Pappireddipatti Taluk, Dharmapuri District and he submitted a representation/application dated 11.07.2015 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural program from 13.08.2015, in connection with the festival of the said temple, which includes song and dance programme and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application/representation dated 11.07.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders on or before 11.08.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.

6. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
