ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982, r/w 7(1) a (ii) of EC Act, 1955, in Crime No.41 of 2026, on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent would strongly oppose the anticipatory bail application on the ground that the petitioner has got one previous case and apart from that PDS rice smuggled in this case is 12500 Kilograms.

3. Considering the gravity of the allegation against the petitioner and the fact that the petitioner has got one previous case of similar nature in Crime No.20 of 2025, this Court is of the firm view that the petitioner does not deserve anticipatory bail.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 06.04.2026 dna
