Mr.V.Umakanth, Government Advocate for R1 to R4 Order This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's appeal/reference filed under Section 90(2) & (4) of

the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983 and dispose the same within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that certain allegations regarding induction of members to the society were found to be true by the enquiry officer which touches upon the constitution of the board and members, hence the petitioner preferred an appeal before the 1st respondent under Section 90 of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act. The petitioner has also made a representation dated 24.02.2026 seeking to dispose of the appeal after furnishing certain documents to the petitioner. Despite repeated request, the petitioner's appeal remains un-disposed by the 2nd respondent and hence, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the materials on record.

4. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for, this Court, without expressing anything on merits, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
