[Made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J] Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents.

2. The petitioner's brother is in Central Prison, Trichy, as a life convict. The petitioner's father has passed away on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

05.05.2022 and the ceremonies have to be performed on 20.05.2022. The petitioner had earlier given an application for grant of ordinary leave. The convict will not be entitled to ordinary leave because his quota has already been exhausted. Therefore, an application for grant of extraordinary leave has been submitted. The third respondent is directed to pass orders on such application on or before 17.05.2022.

Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
