ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to instruct to respondents 2 & 3 not to harass the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's son Selvakumar is involved in Crime No.287 of 2016 under Section 110 Cr.P.C., when the police went to serve summons on him, he was not available in his house and immediately, the mother of the Selvakumar has filed the present petition.

4. Under such circumstances, the respondent police is directed to serve summon on Selvakumar by affixture or otherwise and the petitioner is directed to co-operate with the police in serving summon on Selvakumar. The petitioner shall not be harassed unnecessarily. However, if any cognizable offence is made out, this order would not be a shield against the arrest of the accused.

In view of the above, the criminal original petition is closed.
