Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus calling for the records connected with the detention order in D.O.No.72/2020-C2 dated 25.07.2020 on the file of the 2nd respondent and quash the same and direct the respondent to produce the body and person of the petitioner's husband named Lattu @ Saravanan S/o.Selvam Gounder, aged about 33 years, now confined at Central Prison, Vellore, before this Court and set him at liberty. ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in D.O.No.72/2020-C2 dated 25.07.2020, detaining her husband as "Sand Offender", as contemplated under Section 2(gg) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.3728 Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 07.09.2020 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
